Uenuku The Pines MTB Park
Opened late in 2018, the Uenuku Pines is the first MTB park in the Ruapehu region, set in Waikune Forest on the edge of National Park village.
The new park takes a series of unofficial trails – built and maintained by local volunteers – and finally makes them ‘official’ (i.e. legal!), with the co-operation of the forestry managers.
There are currently around 20 short, linked trails totaling around 15km, that are best suited to intermediate to advanced riders. The park offers heaps of fast, flowing riding with plenty of berms and turns.

To ride Uenuku Pines, you need to join the Ruapehu Mountain Bike Club, affiliated with Cycling New Zealand. You can find out more information on the Mountain bike Clubs website
